Please join Art Papers to celebrate the launch of its final issue of ART PAPERS magazine, and to honor the many people who have contributed to Art Papers’ 50-year legacy.

All are welcome to join as we celebrate our final issue of ART PAPERS (titled Fire Ecology) among some of the brilliant people who have helped shape, guide and propel Art Papers over the course of our 50-year history. Past staff, writers, interns, board members, and volunteers are invited to be our guests of honor.

This issue is the culmination of the Fire Ecology project: the three-year project designed to examine the state of the Atlanta Arts Ecosystem, the state of Arts Writing & Publishing nationally, and to celebrate the legacy of Art Papers – a beloved Atlanta nonprofit. Art Papers will thoughtfully conclude operations later this year, after 50 years of cultural service.

The issue launch party is also a celebration of life for Art Papers. The event culminates with a Second Line Procession, led by the Seed & Feed Marching Abominable – beginning at Whitespace at 4pm, and ending at the Art Papers office in the Little 5 Points Community Art Center.

1:00 Doors Open, Music, Merch + Final Issue + Sticker Customization available at the Art Papers Table
3:00 Comments & Acknowledgements: Honoring the many individuals who have contributed to Art Papers’ legacy, a word about the final issue, etc.
3:50 Seed & Feed Marching Abominable will begin playing to signal that the procession is about to begin, on the move starting at 4:00 for the .7 mile/approx 15-20 min walk from Whitespace to L5PCC along Euclid Ave, a climactic hoorah upon arrival.
4:00 Second Line Parade to Little Five Points Community Center, where Art Papers has held an office since the 1990s. This procession will follow Edgewood Avenue onto Euclid Avenue—a 0.7 mile walk along residential sidewalks, approximately 15 minutes.
4:15–4:30 Final comments, group bow on the L5PCC lawn
4:30–6:30 After Party at Wrecking Bar, 292 Moreland Ave NE – Not ready to end the party? Join us at Wrecking Bar, in their beer garden, where their full beer menu and a select wine and appetizer menu will be available for purchase.
