Horror After Horror
This issue, Horror After Horror, explores a range of interpretations and evocations of Horror as a medium of displacement through which to process extreme feelings and cultural conflicts. The title alludes both to the relentlessness of horrific events unfolding on a global scale and to the anticipation and unthinkability of what could come next.

‘Tis the season for taking stock of what we’ve accomplished in 2024, and for looking forward to what the future holds. On behalf of everyone at Art Papers, I want to thank the individuals and foundations who rallied to support our mission this past year.

Reworlding
What separates us, the living, from our recent ancestors, is that we have inadvertently become not just people of the planet, but planetary people. And as planetary folk, we’re the generational interlocutors of interlocking, simultaneous and earth-scaled challenges—something called the polycrisis.

We are launching a three-year strategic plan designed to celebrate the legacy of Art Papers, to mobilize the organization’s resources in service to the cultural community, and to thoughtfully arrive at meaningful and controlled conclusion of operations in 2026, at 50 years.
