Lauren Malhotra
Lauren is a creative and diligent event planner with a passion for finding new ways to connect different projects and networks. From 2019 through 2024, she was a founding board member of the non-profit Future Economy Collective, where she ran programming for its primary project, Southpaw Cafe and Community Space. She designed and executed a broad suite of original programming to develop deeper connections across program fields of community engagement, grassroots organizing support, and mutual aid distribution. From 2022 through 2023, she managed events and communications for the Virginia Tech School of Architecture, including supporting the Inside Design Summer Program, the college’s career fair, and graduation showcase. She has a special interest in finding values-driven ways to increase DIY public programming, often at the intersection of arts and liberatory politics.
She loves collaborating as part of a team and learning from people from all walks of life. She also enjoys trying new hobbies, making new recipes out of leftovers, and meeting every dog in her vicinity.
