  2. i wanted to be good, good means i am nice, i don’t curse, i don’t watch rated-r movies, i don’t drink caffeine, i don’t cheat, i don’t lie, i don’t have sex until i get married, i don’t wear bikinis, i don’t wear crop tops, i don’t show my upper thighs or my shoulders, i don’t get double piercings, i don’t get tattoos, i pay my tithing, i help others,  if i’m good i get into heaven, then i’m good for eternity…shit


Gi (Ginny) Huo is a Korean American artist and educator exploring the intentionality of belief and the legacies of religious systems. Huo received a BFA from Brigham Young University and an MFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art. She has published two books with Small Editions, and her art has been exhibited in places such as Socrates Sculpture Park and BAMCinemaFest 2021. Huo’s work has been featured in Hyperallergic, Studio Magazine, TAYO Literary Magazine, and The Brooklyn Rail. She is the Manager of Youth Programs at The Studio Museum in Harlem. She believes that art and education are powerful tools for liberation.
