Saskia Benjamin became the Executive Director at Art Papers in August of 2012. Prior to joining the staff of Art Papers, Saskia was the Director of Institutional Advancement at the Atlanta Contemporary where she oversaw all aspects of fundraising and community outreach including grant and proposal writing, membership, public relations, and special events. Prior to her time at the Atlanta Contemporary, Saskia was the Growth Management Program Manager for the Georgia Conservancy, where she managed the Blueprints for Successful Communities program which developed strategic and environmentally sound growth plans for Georgia-based government and community groups. Prior to this, she worked at the Center for Quality Growth and Regional Development at Georgia Tech, managing projects in housing, health, transportation, and environmental preservation. From 1998-2004, she worked at the High Museum of Art in various administrative positions including Registrar, Assistant to the Deputy Director, and Exhibition Coordinator. Saskia has Masters Degrees in City and Regional Planning from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and in Art History from the University of Southern California. She graduated summa cum laude from Emory University with a Bachelor of Arts degree having majored in Art History and Latin, with a minor in Dance.
