Dario Robleto

AP LIVE presents Dario Robleto in conversation with Art Papers editor + artistic director Sarah Higgins. They discuss Robleto’s artistic practice as the intersection of art, science, history, and cutting-edge medical science. This event is presented in partnership with The Ernest G. Welch School of Art & Design. 

Beginning with his childhood encounter with the recorded heartbeat of Ann Druyan on the famed Golden Record that accompanied Voyager II beyond the solar system, Robleto will tell how a seemingly simple question, “What does one gift to the only woman whose heart has left the solar system?” launched him on a journey to understand the meaning and significance of the human heartbeat.  Spanning his collaboration with Atlanta’s own Dust to Digital, his residency with the SETI institute, and his recent work with the Breakthroughs initiative, this conversation addresses questions around what art can bring to the most speculative spaces of science and technology.
